steve hullinger - partner
Co-founder of Morris Hullinger Design Build, Steve Hullinger brings over 10 years of experience to the team, having been the lead designer on hundreds of luxury residential design projects in the Houston area ranging from 3,000 to over 20,000 square feet. Prior to Morris Hullinger Design Build, Steve spent three years as the head of design for a lHouston based design/build firm where he supervised a staff of five designers and draftsmen and created dozens of custom and speculative homes. Prior to that, he was the senior designer for a Houston residential architectural firm, working on over a hundred homes in Houston’s finest neighborhoods like Tanglewood, Memorial, River Oaks, and Bellaire. His work throughout his career has led to designs receiving dozens of local (PRISM), state (STAR), and national (TIBD and AIBD) awards for overall designs, exterior elevations, interior elevations and specialty rooms.
At Morris Hullinger Design Build, Steve is responsible for the design of all custom and speculative projects and overseeing construction management in conjunction with on-site personnel. He also oversees all budgeting and relationships/negotiations with key vendors and suppliers. Steve holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the College of Architecture at Texas A&M and is an award winning member of the American Institute of Building Designers. Steve is an avid competitive cyclist and triathlete and he and his wife Shannon have four children, and are very active in the Second Baptist Church.
marvin morris - partner
Also co-founder of Morris Hullinger Design Build, Marvin Morris brings over 18 years experience in development, marketing and sales, and various types of construction projects to the team. Prior to founding this company, as VP of Sales and Marketing for a Houston based design build firm, Marvin was responsible for implementing the design and construction of over $50 million in custom homes for sale and for company clients. In addition, Marvin worked for IMI, the nation’s premier Sales and Marking group for luxury residential real estate where he sold over $20 million worth of land and speculative homes in the luxury golf course developments including Cimarron Hills north of Austin and The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands. Prior to joining IMI, from 1991 to 2000, Marvin partnered in the construction of hotel, restaurant, and dozens of residential projects throughout the Southeast. As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mr. Morris has the distinction of placing two separate companies in the INC Magazine’s “500 Fastest Growing Companies in US”.
At Morris Hullinger Design Build, Mr. Morris is responsible for land acquisition, client marketing and development, design and material selection, and financial/partnership efforts. Mr. Morris graduated from the University of Virginia and enjoys domestic and international travel, with a focus on both historic and recent architecture. He is a member of The Golf Club of Tennessee and The Club at Carlton Woods and has won three state golf titles, including theTennessee State Amateur championship.
trey waggener - operations manager
Trey Waggener brings over 9 years of experience to the team. Trey started with Morris Hullinger in December of 2010. Prior to joining the team, Trey managed a construction company, outside of San Antonio, that specialized in custom homes ranging from 3,500 sq.ft. to over 12,000 square feet; as well as commercial retail finish-out. Prior to that, Trey worked for a custom home builder in Boerne, TX from 2002 to 2005, providing onsite management of homes ranging from 3,200 sq.ft. to 5,500 sq.ft.
At Morris Hullinger Design Build, Trey is responsible for budgeting and bidding for all construction activity, procuring materials and negotiating subcontracts as well as overseeing the construction of homes in the Houston area. Trey graduated high school from The Kindaid School then went to college at Southern Methodist University where he graduated with a Bachelor in Business from SMU’s Cox School of Business. Trey is an avid snow skier and he and his wife Elicia are celebrating the birth of their first child, Liam.
elizabeth sanders - controller/office manager
Elizabeth Sanders joined Morris Hullinger in May of 2008 as the Controller/Office Manager. She manages the accounting for the firm and the firm’s ongoing construction projects and provides support for the firm’s owners and construction supervisors.
Elizabeth graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2003 with a BBA in management and marketing with a specialization in human resources. She is currently enrolled in a baccalaureate program at the University of Houston and hopes to begin pursuing a Master of Science in Accountancy in the fall. Elizabeth enjoys running and has completed the 2011 USA Fit Marathon in Sugarland, 2011 Houston Half Marathon and the 2009 Austin Half Marathon. Elizabeth and her husband Jason are expecting the birth of their first child.
